Development Projects in Afghanistan Supported by Turkmenistan Proceeding as Planned
On December 15, 2024, a delegation from Turkmenistan, headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, visited Afghanistan for a working visit. The delegation was accompanied by representatives from Afghanistan, led by Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Amir Khan Mottaki.
The main objective of the visit was to familiarize themselves with the progress of major energy, transport, and infrastructure projects that are being implemented with the cooperation of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan. These projects are part of international initiatives aimed at boosting economic development and connectivity in the region.
Both delegations discussed the progress of these projects, including the construction of transnational energy pipelines and transportation routes that will further integrate the two countries and benefit the wider region. The discussions also covered ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various sectors for mutual benefit.
The visit underscored the strong and growing partnership between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan, highlighting the shared commitment to regional stability, economic growth, and enhanced connectivity.
