Two Kyrgyz Citizens Injured in Azerbaijan Airlines Plane Crash

Two citizens of Kyrgyzstan who were injured in the Azerbaijan Airlines plane crash have been transferred to the trauma department. Luckily, their lives are not in danger. Unfortunately, one of the men onboard sustained serious injuries to his lungs and is in critical condition, according to the Chairman of the Kyrgyz Ethnocultural Association Ala-Too in Mangistau region, Mamatkadyr Narkozuev.
Rinat Asanov, one of the injured passengers, has not yet regained consciousness and is currently on a ventilator due to a cerebral hemorrhage and lung damage. His condition remains precarious. Meanwhile, Tilek Osmonov suffered a broken arm, and Erlan Dzhunusaliev has a lower back injury, preventing him from walking or standing. Both also have scratches and bruises.
The brother of one of the victims, Melis, has said that the relatives of the Kyrgyzstanis are planning to travel to Aktau and remain there until Rinat recovers, after which they will return together.
The incident occurred when the plane, en route from Baku to Grozny, crashed near Aktau Airport on December 25 after failing to land in Russia multiple times. The crash resulted in the loss of 38 lives, with 29 survivors being hospitalized. Among the deceased were six citizens of Kazakhstan, while three Kyrgyzstanis were among those hospitalized, with one in critical condition.
Criminal cases have been opened in Russia, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan for violations of safety rules, including one for negligence in Baku. Investigations into the crash are ongoing to determine the cause of the tragedy.
