Direct Flight from Prague to Ulaanbaatar Starting in June

Czech Republic and Mongolia Agree to Strengthen Trade and Economic Cooperation

On May 11, Czech Republic’s Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky met with Mongolian Foreign Minister B.Battsetseg to discuss bilateral relations. During the meeting, both ministers praised the positive relationship and agreed on the need to strengthen trade and economic cooperation.

Minister Lipavsky expressed his appreciation for Mongolia’s abolition of visa requirements for Czech tourists and for the launch of the President’s scholarship program. He also highlighted the fact that the Czech Republic is home to the largest Mongolian community in the European Union and the third largest in the world after Korea and the United States.

In addition, Minister B.Battsetseg announced a direct flight between Prague and Ulaanbaatar beginning in June of this year. Meanwhile, Minister Lipavsky confirmed the participation of Czech Army observers in this year’s Khaan Quest military exercise organized by Mongolia and the United States. He also expressed the Czech Republic’s interest in supplying equipment to the Mongolian armed forces.

The Czech Republic will continue its participation in reforestation projects and in the project “Return of the Przewalski’s Horse,” organized jointly with the Prague Zoo. Minister Lipavsky thanked Minister B.Battsetseg for their cooperation in the project and hopes for its continued success.
