
Direct Flights from Xi’an to Ashgabat are Now Available.

China and Turkmenistan have opened their first passenger route, connecting Xi’an, the administrative center of Shaanxi Province in northwest China, to Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan. The new route, which also includes a stop in Urumqi, will operate weekly with flight CZ5085 departing from Xi’an at 17:30 Beijing time every Saturday and landing in Ashgabat at 23:10 local time the same day. On the return journey, flight CZ5086 will depart from Ashgabat at 00:40 local time on Sunday and arrive in Xi’an at 12:30 Beijing time the same day. The new route, together with a flight to the Tajik capital Dushanbe to be launched on May 18, marks the complete connection of passenger air traffic from Xi’an to five Central Asian countries. China and Central Asian countries are increasing their cooperation in the fields of culture, business and tourism with the “One Belt, One Road” initiative. The launch of more passenger routes is expected to further strengthen regional exchanges.
