Director Bakamov Shuts Down Variety of Formats in Baku-Yerevan

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Advocates for Direct Negotiations with Armenia

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has emphasized the importance of direct negotiations between Baku and Yerevan as the most effective method for resolving existing issues. In an interview with the Turkish TV channel TRT World, Bayramov highlighted that bilateral dialogue yields greater results compared to negotiations involving mediators.

Bayramov further pointed out that all countries, including Armenia, acknowledge both de jure and de facto the belonging of Karabakh to Azerbaijan. This acknowledgement signifies that the Karabakh issue has been effectively closed. Therefore, he questioned Armenia’s insistence on the Minsk Group and raised doubts about Yerevan’s future plans in relation to the issue.

The Foreign Minister’s comments suggest a strong position in favor of direct communication and resolution of conflicts between Azerbaijan and Armenia without the involvement of external parties. The emphasis on bilateral dialogue reflects Azerbaijan’s commitment to finding peaceful solutions to longstanding disputes in the region.
