Uzbekistan to Introduce New Types of Tourism in 2025
Starting in 2025, Uzbekistan is set to launch new and unique types of tourism aimed at attracting both local and international tourists. These new tourism sectors will include industrial, geological, scientific, military, and public administration tourism. The initiative is part of a government decree aimed at diversifying the country’s tourism offerings.
Among the activities that will be available to tourists are visits to government and scientific organizations’ buildings, witnessing explosions in mines, and engaging in paid shooting activities at shooting ranges. The Ministry of Defense will be providing the shooting services, while the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology will organize visits to mines and explosion events involving mountain rocks.
In order to facilitate the implementation of these new tourism initiatives, various ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, the Tourism Committee, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Defense, and others, are working together to finalize and adopt relevant interdepartmental documents.
The Tourism Committee has already developed a set of regulations outlining procedures for visiting the designated sites, including entry and exit protocols, visit organization, and general visitor requirements. Several institutions have been identified as official sites for government and scientific tourism, including the Committee’s administrative building and various educational and research institutes.
Various ministries and agencies have designated key tourist sites for different types of tourism, such as geological, scientific, military, and public administration tourism. These sites will offer a range of services, including guided tours, accommodation, meals, and other amenities.
