DMM Issues Statement on Courthouse Attack
The Center for Combating Disinformation has issued a statement regarding the recent armed attack on the Istanbul Courthouse, clarifying that reports claiming Dilfiraz Karataş was killed by a police bullet are false.
According to the statement released by the Center for Combating Disinformation, the allegations that Dilfiraz Karataş, who lost his life in the terrorist attack on the police station in front of Istanbul Çağlayan Courthouse, “died by a police bullet” are propaganda of terrorist organizations. The attack, which took place on February 6, resulted in the death of one citizen and injuries to 6 individuals, including 3 police officers. It has been confirmed that the two terrorists who were neutralized during the attack were members of the DHKP/C terrorist organization.
The statement also provides a detailed account of the sequence of events, explaining that the armed attack was carried out by two terrorists who targeted a police officer on duty. The terrorists fired at the officer, ultimately hitting Dilfiraz Karataş in the back. The statement emphasizes that security camera footage clearly shows that Karataş was shot from behind, debunking claims that he was hit by a police bullet from the side.
The Center for Combating Disinformation urges the public not to be swayed by the propaganda spread by terrorist organizations, emphasizing the need for accurate information and understanding of the events that transpired.
