President Erdoğan’s UN Speech Attendance Controversy Debunked by Directorate of Communications
During President Erdoğan’s speech at the 79th United Nations General Assembly meeting, claims surfaced that only a small number of representatives were in attendance. However, the Directorate of Communications has denied these allegations.
The Center for Combating Disinformation also released a statement including photographs taken from the hall during Erdoğan’s speech. The statement emphasized that the claim of the hall being empty during the speech was untrue. They stated, “When the images are examined, it is clearly seen that the allegations are completely unfounded.”
Furthermore, the Center for Combating Disinformation revealed that these claims of the hall being empty originated from FETÖ’s social media accounts and were shared by others. They cautioned against believing the propaganda campaigns of terrorist organizations targeting the Republic of Turkey and its officials.
