Doctor Arrested for Assault with Pepper Spray and Gun

A doctor at Üsküdar State Hospital has been arrested for allegedly brandishing a gun and spraying pepper spray in front of patients in an attempt to scare President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The incident, which took place on February 14, has led to an investigation by the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.

According to reports, Istanbul Police Department teams reviewed security camera footage from the hospital and identified the doctor, named Okk, as the suspect. Upon searching Okk’s residence and vehicle, authorities found 5 air pistols, 3 electro shock devices, and 2 pepper sprays.

Okk was taken to the Anatolian Justice Palace after the police operation and has since been arrested on charges of “threatening with a gun” and “insulting the president”. The investigation is ongoing.
