Doctor in Naryn Arrested for Extortion by SCNS

The head of the Traumatology and Orthopedics Department of the Naryn Regional Combined Hospital has been detained for extortion, according to reports from the press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS).
The doctor, identified only as K.T.S., allegedly extorted 90,000 soms from a resident of Ak-Kuduk village in the Naryn region in exchange for an operation on his father.
The SCNS stated that the doctor was caught red-handed and has been placed in the pretrial detention center of Naryn by a court decision.
This incident highlights the issue of corruption within the healthcare system in Kyrgyzstan. Authorities are cracking down on such illegal activities in order to ensure the integrity and trustworthiness of the medical profession in the country.
