Preparations for the TESC 2024 scientific conference are in full swing as the event is scheduled to take place on June 5-6 in Ashgabat. The conference coincides with World Environment Day, highlighting the significance of the topics to be discussed and drawing attention to the issues of ecology and sustainable development.
World Environment Day, observed annually on June 5, serves as a crucial reminder of the necessity for proactive measures to protect our planet. TESC 2024 represents a significant stride towards a sustainable future by uniting scientists, researchers, and professionals to collaborate on tackling the environmental challenges of our era.
The TESC 2024 scientific conference will bring together esteemed scientists and researchers from various countries, including renowned figures such as NASA scientist Dana Chadwick and "tornado chaser" George Kourounis. Dr. Dana Chadwick, a lead scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, is spearheading a project to measure methane levels from the International Space Station. Her research focuses on studying the relationships between ecosystems, critical zone processes, and landscape evolution.
George Kourounis, a researcher known for his exploration of extreme environments, including the Darwaza gas crater, will also be attending the conference. In 2013, he became the first person to descend into the fiery crater to collect soil samples and investigate unique microorganisms thriving in extreme conditions.
The TESC 2024 conference will delve into critical issues concerning energy prospects, new technologies, and environmental considerations in hydrocarbon field development. Discussions will revolve around innovative approaches to hydrocarbon production with minimal environmental impact, strategies to reduce methane and carbon dioxide emissions, and initiatives promoting green energy adoption. Over 250 delegates from 31 countries have registered to attend TESC 2024, underscoring the global interest and participation in discussions surrounding environmental sustainability and energy development.
