Earthquake Activity in Chui and Jalal-Abad Regions Recorded by Seismologists
On January 4, 2025, seismologists in Kyrgyzstan recorded earthquakes in the Chui and Jalal-Abad regions. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that an earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale struck the Jalal-Abad region, specifically in Koso-Terek village, Bazar-Korgon district.
In addition, a magnitude 3 earthquake was registered in the Chui region, affecting Sokuluk and Alamedin districts. Tremors were also felt in Kashka-Suu and Tosh-Bulak villages, with an intensity of up to magnitude 2.5. Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties or damage as a result of these earthquakes.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay alert and follow safety protocols in case of any aftershocks. Seismologists will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of the population.
