FlixBus Expands Its Network in Hungary, Making Traveling to Europe Easier
FlixBus is continuing to strengthen its presence in Hungary, with plans to offer 15% more destinations in April compared to spring 2024. This expansion includes four new routes and one seasonal route, providing services to and from Budapest as well as rural cities, as reported by Turizmus.com.
Hungary has already been a significant hub in the FlixBus European network, offering direct services from 7 cities to 20 countries on 45 lines. Currently, there are 228 destinations available, including popular cities such as Vienna, Bratislava, Brno, Graz, Maribor, and Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.
The Hungarian network is growing year by year, with a planned 26% increase in routes from April 2024. This expansion will bring the total number of destinations to 53, including 36 new locations.
One of the new services launched in April is a connection to Kecskemét in central Hungary, with routes to Serbia and France, providing direct access to 23 cities. Additionally, a seasonal route between Sopron in northwestern Hungary and Warsaw will resume on April 28, with an extended route to Kazimierz Dolny on the Vistula coast during the summer months.
Another notable addition is the direct connection from Budapest to Szczecin on the Baltic Sea coast, offering travelers access to the coastal city and onward to Koszalin during the summer season.
Michal Leman, Head of FlixBus Eastern Europe, stated, “Our company is committed to strengthening its presence in Hungary, and as a result, 254 cities will be accessible from the end of April this year with FlixBus services from Hungary.” He added, “Our strategic goal is to include as many Hungarian cities as possible in the international network, so that not only Budapest but also many regions of the country have access to environmentally friendly and affordable bus travel to various destinations in Europe.”
With these expansions, FlixBus aims to make traveling to European destinations more convenient and accessible for travelers from Hungary.
