Education Minister Guarantees Smooth Textbook Distribution in the Coming Year
In an announcement made at a joint meeting of parliamentary groups in Kyrgyzstan, the Minister of Education and Science, Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva, assured that there will be no problems with school textbooks in 2024. Deputy Balbak Tulobaev raised concerns about the publication of textbooks by different authors on the same subject.
During the meeting, Tulobaev urged the Education Minister to address the issue and questioned the use of different textbooks in various districts. He also inquired whether the matter had been included in next year’s budget.
Responding to these concerns, Minister Kendirbaeva revealed that a commission has been established to address the issue. She further disclosed that an order has been issued stating that school textbooks will be published by a single publishing house, supervised by the ministry. Additionally, a dedicated printing house will be created solely for the purpose of publishing textbooks. Kendirbaeva ensured that this measure will resolve any existing problems with textbooks in the upcoming year.
Tulobaev also appealed to the Finance Minister, Almaz Baketayev, to allocate the necessary funds for the successful implementation of this initiative.
This decision aims to streamline and standardize the production of school textbooks throughout Kyrgyzstan, ensuring that students receive consistent materials regardless of their location. By centralizing the process, the government aims to improve the quality and accuracy of the educational resources provided to students.
