Efkan Ala Criticizes Re-Welfare Party for Boosting CHP’s Success: Latest Updates from Turkey
Efkan Ala, Deputy Chairman of the AK Party, recently addressed the ongoing local election cooperation process within the People’s Alliance and the election agenda. Primarily focusing on the collaboration with the MHP and BBP, Ala emphasized that these partnerships are based on an “agreement of principles.”
However, Ala did not hesitate to express his dissatisfaction towards the Re-Welfare Party’s decision to participate in the elections with their own candidates. He claimed that by entering the race, the Re-Welfare Party is essentially aiding the chances of the CHP, the main opposition party, to secure victory in certain areas.
“In places where the Re-Welfare Party competes, it has no realistic chance of winning. Instead, its presence inadvertently assists the CHP to claim victory,” Ala stated.
When questioned about the local election activities in Istanbul, Ala highlighted the apparent longing for an AK Party municipality in the city. He noted that both the grassroots support and the work being carried out reflect a desire for the party’s governance in the region, which has become synonymous with quality and success.
As the local elections draw nearer, the political landscape continues to evolve and shape the future of municipal governance in Turkey. Ala’s remarks shed light on the dynamics at play within the People’s Alliance, as well as the current sentiments surrounding the upcoming elections in Istanbul.
