EFSD Supports Economic Transformation Programs in Kyrgyzstan with $160 Million

Bishkek – The Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD), as part of the first medium-term strategy for 2022-2026, is providing $160 million to support financing of economic transformation programs in Kyrgyzstan. This announcement was made on the fund’s website.

In addition to Kyrgyzstan, programs for Armenia and Tajikistan for $200 million are also currently under consideration.

According to TASS, “$160 million was allocated to Kyrgyzstan for these purposes; two programs for $100 million each for Armenia and Tajikistan are under consideration.”

The EFSD is also considering another program to promote institutional change in Kyrgyzstan. The fund provides technical assistance and support to member countries for structural and institutional changes.

The first medium-term strategy of the EFSD was approved by all participating states in 2022. The document takes into account country strategies and identifies appropriate goals and objectives after an analysis carried out by the fund’s experts, considering national development priorities and the financial resources of the fund.

It is clear that the EFSD is committed to supporting economic development and transformation in Kyrgyzstan and other member countries, as part of its mission to promote stability and growth in the region.
