Azerbaijan to Host 12th Summit of Organization of Turkic States

The upcoming 12th summit of the leaders of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG) is set to be held in Azerbaijan, where discussions on a wide range of global issues are expected to take place. This was announced by the Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan, Elchin Amirbayov, during a panel discussion titled “OTS: Unique Model of Cooperation” at the 4th Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

Amirbayov revealed that Azerbaijan is making preparations to host this significant international summit in October. He emphasized the importance of a consolidated approach in addressing the challenges and divisions faced by the modern world. According to him, strengthening the sense of belonging within the broad geography that includes Central Asia, the South Caucasus, and Türkiye is crucial for the OTS to transition from a cultural and linguistic association to a key geopolitical player.

Reflecting on the progress made since the establishment of the OTS in 2009 in Nakhchivan, Amirbayov expressed his satisfaction with the organization’s journey. He expressed confidence that the upcoming 12th summit, to be proudly hosted by Azerbaijan this fall, will delve into these issues in detail.

The OTS has evolved significantly over the years, and the upcoming summit presents an opportunity for member states to discuss and strategize on important regional and global matters. Azerbaijan looks forward to hosting this momentous event and contributing to the continued growth and development of the Organization of Turkic States.
