Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, has announced that he has hired a new CEO for the company via a tweet. Musk stated that he is excited to announce this news and that the new CEO will start in about six weeks. However, the name of the new CEO was not mentioned in the tweet.
After the new CEO joins, Musk will continue to be a part of the company, but in a different role. He will take up the position of Chairman of the Board and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), where he will oversee the software, products, and services of the company.
In December 2021, Musk announced via Twitter that he would step down as CEO if the results of a poll showed that the majority of people wanted him to. The poll received 17.5 million votes, and of these, 57.5% of the participants said that Musk should step down, while 42.5% chose to retain him as CEO.
Elon Musk has stated that he will resign from being the CEO of Twitter as soon as he finds someone “stupid” enough to take over the management position. It is believed that some Tesla shareholders feel that Twitter has become a distraction for Musk, and their worries are taking his attention away from his duties at Tesla.
