Turkey is taking major steps to enhance its air defense capabilities with the development of a groundbreaking ecosystem. The system, which will protect the country’s entire airspace and celestial homeland, is set to incorporate domestic technologies such as Korkut, Hisar, and cutting-edge artificial intelligence.
According to Güngör Yavuzaslan, this new system sets itself apart from others on the global stage, including Israel’s Iron Dome. With the inclusion of land space, air space, and the blue homeland, Turkey’s ecosystem offers a much wider coverage and defense capability.
Mesut Hakkı Caşın also highlighted the significance of space in air defense, emphasizing that Turkey is establishing its space command to monitor threats and enemy areas in real-time. With precision accuracy of up to 10 centimeters, early warning systems are in place to detect missile threats from the moment they are launched.
Furthermore, Turkey operates within the NATO air defense umbrella, utilizing radar technology to detect medium-altitude and high-altitude missile threats from all directions.
