Emergency Situations Ministry Calls for Construction of 19 Garages for New Fire Engines
Bishkek – The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan has requested the construction of 19 new garages for their fire trucks. Deputy Ravshanbek Rysbaev made this announcement during a joint meeting of the Ata Zhurt Kyrgyzstan, Ishenim parliamentary factions, and Mekenchil parliamentary group.
The reason for this request is that the new equipment does not fit in the existing parking lots. Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations, Urmatbek Shamyrkanov, stated that the ministry has asked the Ministry of Finance to allocate an additional 428 million soms in 2024 for the construction of these 19 fire stations. However, this request has yet to be approved.
In response, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Bakyt Torobaev, mentioned that a standard design for these buildings is currently being developed. He stated, “A new company, Beton Kurulush, was opened in Kyrgyzindustriya. Once the standard project is completed, we will order and construct 19 two-story fire and rescue stations.”
It is worth mentioning that in March, Russia donated 40 new fire engines to Kyrgyzstan. Additionally, under the World Bank project, another 58 units of firefighting equipment were also handed over.
These developments highlight the efforts being made to strengthen Kyrgyzstan’s emergency response capabilities by improving their firefighting infrastructure. The construction of the new fire stations will provide proper storage and maintenance facilities for the recently acquired fire trucks, ensuring a more efficient and effective response to emergencies in the future.
