
Empowering Tunisian Women Entrepreneurs: Building Bridges Between Turkey and Africa

Turkish and Tunisian Business Women Enhance Economic Cooperation
A delegation of Turkish Business Women, members of the International Business Women and Entrepreneurs Association (USSİKAD), recently visited Tunisia to strengthen economic ties between the two countries. The visit included productive meetings with key representatives from various Tunisian business organizations such as the International Women Entrepreneurs Council (CIFE), Tunisian Investment Agency (FIPA), and Tunisian Business People Confederation (Conect).
During the 3-day visit, the Turkish delegation participated in the Bio EXPO 2025 Organic Agriculture and Agricultural Food Fair in Tunisia, showcasing their respective sectors and exploring potential collaborations with Tunisian women entrepreneurs. The delegation was led by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Turkish Business Women and accompanied by Turkish Ambassador to Tunisia Ahmet Misbah Demircan and commercial attaché Seda Yüceer.
Ambassador Demircan highlighted the importance of Tunisia as a gateway to Africa for Turkey, emphasizing the existing trade imbalance and the potential for Turkish industrialists to expand their market reach. He also praised the strong presence of women entrepreneurs in Tunisia and underscored the significance of fostering closer ties between Turkish and Tunisian business communities.
Usikad President Müge Öz expressed optimism about the visit’s impact on bilateral trade relations, noting the strong entrepreneurship culture among Tunisian women. The delegation signed a goodwill protocol with CIFE and laid the groundwork for future collaborations with Conect and UTACA. Plans are also underway to host Tunisian entrepreneurs in Turkey in order to further deepen economic and cultural ties between the two countries.
Overall, the visit served as a promising step towards enhancing economic cooperation and fostering long-term partnerships between Turkish and Tunisian business women, illustrating the potential for mutually beneficial collaborations in various sectors.
