
Energy Regulatory Authorities from Azerbaijan and Romania Sign Memorandum of Understanding in Baku

Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency and Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority Sign Cooperation Agreement
The Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) and the Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in energy regulation. The agreement was signed by Samir Akhundov, Chairman of AERA’s Board, and George-Sergiu Niculescu, President of ANRE, on April 3.
The signing ceremony was attended by Vasile Soare, the Romanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, as well as representatives from both regulatory authorities. The main objective of the MoU is to strengthen cooperation between AERA and ANRE in the field of energy regulation.
Under the terms of the agreement, the two regulatory authorities will collaborate on exchanging information and best practices in various areas of energy regulation. This includes electricity and renewable energy, natural gas, green hydrogen, energy infrastructure, and other relevant matters.
The signing of this MoU marks a significant step towards enhancing collaboration between Azerbaijan and Romania in the energy sector. Both countries are committed to fostering cooperation and sharing knowledge in order to further develop and regulate their respective energy industries.
