Enhanced collaboration between Uzbekistan and China in green energy, trade, and innovation

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan welcomed a delegation from China on September 5, led by Chen Min’er, a member of the Politburo of the Chinese Communist Party and Communist Party Secretary of Tianjin. The meeting, as reported by the presidential press service, began with Chen Min’er conveying warm greetings and well wishes from President Xi Jinping of China to President Mirziyoyev.

During the discussions, both parties focused on advancing the already strong Uzbek-Chinese cooperation and practical interaction, in line with the agreements made at the highest levels of government, particularly through active interregional dialogue. They were pleased to acknowledge that the friendship and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China have grown significantly in recent years.

Of particular interest was the development of collaborative projects with prominent companies in Tianjin across various sectors such as trade, industry, green energy, infrastructure construction and modernization, agriculture, textiles, pharmaceuticals, among others. The importance of enhancing programs for innovation, education, and cultural exchange was also highlighted.

A significant outcome of the meeting was the agreement to establish a “roadmap” for mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tianjin. This roadmap aims to strengthen ties between the regions and foster continued growth in the partnership.

The discussions between the two delegations reflect the commitment of both Uzbekistan and China to further deepen their cooperation and friendship for the mutual benefit of both nations.
