Enhanced Security Measures Implemented for Tourist Season in Kyrgyzstan

A new unified security service will be operational during the upcoming tourist season in Kyrgyzstan, as announced by police colonel Maksatbek Klychev, head of the Department of Public Security Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on Birinchi Radio.

This innovative service will comprise individuals from various government ministries including the Interior Ministry, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Natural Resources, Ministry of Transport, and Ministry of Health. It is set to commence operations in June and will entail collaborative efforts with resorts and recreation areas.

According to Klychev, the service will involve monitoring the situation in designated areas, with the establishment of mobile groups and the development of specific routes for them. Over 5,000 employees from internal affairs bodies and servicemen of the Internal Troops, along with more than a thousand voluntary people’s groups, will be mobilized to ensure public safety during the summer period.

In order to maintain law and order and enhance security, a temporary headquarters will be set up at the Bosteri rural police department. Additionally, 146 tourist police officers who are proficient in foreign languages and equipped with necessary resources will be deployed in Bishkek, Osh, Osh, and Issyk-Kul regions. Furthermore, mobile posts from the Main Traffic Safety Department will be stationed along highways across the country, not just in the direction of the Issyk-Kul region.

These comprehensive measures aim to provide a safe and secure environment for tourists visiting Kyrgyzstan, safeguarding their well-being and promoting a positive travel experience in the country.
