Erdal Erdem Runs Marathon in Christian Atsu’s Jersey for Beşiktaş
Over 12,000 participants from 60 countries took part in the 18th marathon organized by Spor Istanbul, a subsidiary of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. The marathon featured 56 elite athletes, including 22 women and 34 men. Additionally, Beşiktaş outfitter Erdal Erdem participated in the 21-kilometer race. Notably, Hatayspor football player, Christian Atsu, who recently passed away in the earthquake, was remembered during the event. Erdem ran the half marathon in Atsu’s jersey and completed the race in 1 hour and 28 minutes. The successful completion of the marathon was a testament to the resilience and strength of the human spirit, and the participants were able to come together from all corners of the world to transcend borders and cultural differences.
