Erdoğan Alludes to Oil and Natural Gas Breakthroughs under Albayrak’s Era

President Erdogan Announces Potential for New Oil and Natural Gas Discoveries
In a recent interview with A Haber, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the potential for new natural gas and oil discoveries in Turkey. He emphasized the government’s efforts in conducting seismic surveys and drilling in the Western Black Sea Region, which has led to the significant expansion of their drilling fleet. Erdogan acknowledged the recent discoveries of natural gas in the Ordu and Rize regions and underlined the importance of reserves.
To incentivize locals to use the natural gas, Erdogan announced that for the first month it would be given free of charge, with the government providing 25 cubic meters free of charge for a year. He also said that the government had discovered sources that would provide resources for the Family and Youth Bank, highlighting the need for retirement benefits for homemakers and the intention to offer marriage loans to newlyweds with a two-year grace period.
Erdogan also discussed the government’s commitment to increasing the supply of housing and protecting citizens from inflation. He cited the implementation of mass housing projects, including the “Half of Us” initiative with TOKI, and pledged to increase housing construction in Istanbul. He also mentioned the construction of Kanal Istanbul and condemned the opposition party’s claim that the government would not build it.
Finally, President Erdogan assured citizens that the government was taking steps to protect workers from inflation and that inflation was already beginning to decline. He highlighted the government’s efforts to appoint 45,000 teachers and over 4,000 disabled people and expressed confidence in young politicians.
The confirmation vote for the government is set to take place on Sunday.
