European Volleyball Confederation President Visits Baku’s Alley of Honor

Aleksandar Boricic, President of the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV), recently paid a visit to Azerbaijan where he, along with the leadership of the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation (AVF), made a special trip to the Alley of Honor. During their visit, the delegation took the time to honor the memory of Azerbaijan’s National Leader, Heydar Aliyev, by laying flower bouquets at his grave. They also paid tribute to the prominent ophthalmologist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva, by placing flowers at her grave.
In addition to this, the CEV delegation also visited the Alley of Martyrs, where they laid bouquets on the graves of Azerbaijani heroes who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s independence and territorial integrity. The visit was a solemn and respectful way to commemorate those who have played a significant role in the history and development of Azerbaijan.
The gesture of laying flowers at the graves of such important figures in Azerbaijani history highlights the strong ties between the CEV and Azerbaijan, not just in the realm of sports, but also in acknowledging and honoring the country’s rich cultural and historical heritage. It is a reminder of the importance of remembering and commemorating the past, while also looking towards the future with hope and unity.
