Ex-wife Files Lawsuit for Property Sharing, Man Claims “His Murder is Obligatory” in Court Petition
Zehra G., a mother of two children residing in the Keçiören district, took legal action against her husband Halil S., whom she had been married to for 31 years, in 2015. The reason for the divorce case was cited as a breach of fidelity on Halil S.’s part.
After a long legal battle, the Ankara 7th Family Court finally resolved the case in 2018 by ordering Halil S. to pay 500 TL in alimony to Zehra G. and granting the divorce. However, the story did not end there. In 2021, Zehra G. decided to pursue her rights further by filing a lawsuit for property sharing at the Ankara 25th Family Court through her lawyer.
The court took the necessary steps by commissioning an expert report for the division of the couple’s assets. The expert report, consisting of 10 pages, was submitted to the court last month. It assessed the value of the house in Keçiören and the real estate in Kahramankazan that were acquired during the marriage. The report suggested that both properties be divided equally, with half going to Zehra G. and the other half to Halil S.
Following the submission of the expert report, it was decided that both parties would receive a copy for review. The court hearing on the matter was postponed to November to allow time for deliberation and discussion of the expert recommendations. The legal battle between Zehra G. and Halil S. continues as they navigate the complexities of dividing their assets post-divorce.
