Kahramanmaraş Expo 2023: A New Living Space for Earthquake Victims
Kahramanmaraş Expo 2023 has officially opened its doors, providing a living space for earthquake victims and promoting the city. The expo has commenced with the theme of “Nature-Friendly City and Awareness,” attracting the attention of President Erdoğan who attended the opening via video conference.
During his speech, President Erdoğan expressed his hopes that the expo, organized by the Onikişubat Municipality, will be beneficial for everyone involved. He also mentioned the opportunity to host thousands of guests during the expo period and the potential for Kahramanmaraş to make significant social, cultural, and economic contributions.
The vice president, Cevdet Yılmaz, and the minister of Agriculture and Forestry, İbrahim Yumaklı, were also present at the opening ceremony. A total of 22 countries have participated in Kahramanmaraş Expo 2023.
Minister Yumaklı shared details about the various projects that had transformed 780,000 square meters of area into a living space. He emphasized the creation of an open shopping mall, a ladybug and butterfly garden, hobby houses, and a wedding palace. To attract more guests and promote Kahramanmaraş, Turkey’s largest ladybug and butterfly valley has been established. Additionally, entertainment areas for young people and a children’s world have been created.
One of the highlights of the expo is the opportunity to showcase Kahramanmaraş’s rich culture, traditions, and tourism. The area includes the largest artificial lake in Europe, which provides an excellent backdrop for photography enthusiasts. Expo 2023 will welcome visitors for a period of three months.
Kahramanmaraş Expo 2023 aims to not only assist earthquake victims with a new living space but also promote the city’s unique offerings. With the participation of various countries and extensive cultural exhibits, this expo promises to be an enriching experience for all attendees.
