Expert Commission Members Accused of Extorting Money from Individuals with Disabilities

Bishkek – 24.kg news agency reported on April 14, 2025, that the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) has uncovered a corruption scheme within the medical and social expert commission (MSEC) under the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic. The press service of the ministry revealed that members of the Leilek inter-district MSEC were involved in systematic extortion of money from individuals with disabilities in exchange for determining their disability group.

The ministry stated that evidence has been gathered indicating that the Chairman of the Commission, along with expert doctors A.Dzh.A. and E.U.B., were receiving money ranging from 3,000 to 5,000 soms from citizens with disabilities. As a result, these individuals have been taken into custody and placed in a temporary detention facility.
