Explore Minerals at Miskolc’s Weekend Fair
The 41st International Mineral Festival will be held at the University of Miskolc in Hungary this weekend, featuring thematic exhibitions, scientific lectures, a mineral fair, and children’s activities. The event aims to cater to everyone interested in minerals, rocks, gemstones, and fossils.
With a focus on exhibitors and visitors from Central European countries, the festival also serves as a bridge between collectors from Western and Eastern European countries. This year, opal has been chosen as the mineral of the year, showcasing various precious varieties such as hyalite, white opal, and liver opal. Additionally, radiolaria has been named as the archetype of the year, highlighting unicellular organisms with amorphous opal skeletons that have existed for millions of years.
