Exploring Budapest’s Iconic Museums with Hollywood Star John Malkovich
John Malkovich, the famous Hollywood star, recently visited Budapest and made a special stop at the Museum of Fine Arts and the Hungarian National Gallery. The Museum of Fine Arts shared photos of Malkovich’s visit, where he was accompanied by his partner and given a guided tour by General Director László Baán.
In a series of photos released by the museum, it was revealed that Malkovich was also joined by former government spokeswoman Alexandra Szentkirályi. While there is no confirmation that Malkovich is in Hungary for filming, the cultural institution expressed their honor at his visit.
During his visit, Malkovich also explored the Hungarian National Gallery and shared his favorite works of art on the museum’s Instagram page. He was particularly captivated by pieces from artists such as Károly Ferenczy, József Rippl-Rónai, Kosztka Tivadar Csontváry, and Gyula Benczúr, even taking a photo of the masterpiece ‘The Baptism of Vajk’ as a memento.
This is not Malkovich’s first time in Hungary, as he previously performed at the Erkel Theater two years ago with his musical stand-up version of ‘The Music Critic’. Known for his roles in films like ‘Being John Malkovich’ and ‘Red’, Malkovich is also a respected stage actor who has graced the theaters in Hungary on multiple occasions.
Malkovich’s visit to Budapest adds to the list of Hollywood stars who have been drawn to the city in recent years. His appreciation for Hungarian art and culture further highlights the city’s appeal as a cultural hub.
