The undisputed favorite among the dishes was beshbarmak, a traditional Kazakh delicacy featuring boiled meat (such as lamb, beef, horse, or camel) and dough (zhaima) served with a flavorful broth. Festive gatherings often include horsemeat boiled with onions and herbs, accompanied by national delights like kazy, shuzhyk, zhal, zhaya, and potatoes. Foreign visitors praised the dish for its succulent and rich flavor.

Coming in second place was bauyrsak, a staple of the Kazakh dining table. These golden, fried dough balls impressed guests with their soft and airy texture. In some regions, a crispy and small variant known as shi bauyrsak is particularly popular among tourists who often take it home as a souvenir.
