Explosion at Ramadan Ball Event in Sivas Rattles Attendees
An elderly man in Sivas was injured when a Ramadan ball exploded during iftar time in the district of Gürün. According to reports, the man, identified as B.Ş. (72), was attempting to detonate the bomb in his hand when it unexpectedly exploded. As a result, he suffered injuries to his hands and face.
The injured man was quickly transported to Gürün State Hospital by ambulance, where he received initial treatment before being transferred to Sivas Numune Hospital for further medical attention. It was revealed that B.Ş. had retired from Gürün Municipality 11 years ago, but continued to serve the community even after retirement.
This incident serves as a reminder of the dangers associated with handling explosives, especially during celebratory events like Ramadan. Authorities urge the public to exercise caution and follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
