Eyewitness positively identifies murder suspect in court

Two Men Accused of Attempted Murder Attend Court Hearing

Two men, identified as Şeker and Karakurt, along with their lawyers, appeared in court at the Ankara 21st High Criminal Court for a hearing related to an attempted murder case. The presiding judge announced that witnesses would be called to testify after reviewing the case file documents.

During the hearing, a witness named Ceren G. recounted her observations from the day of the incident. She mentioned seeing a suspicious individual wearing white gloves standing next to a red car. This individual apparently examined the car before getting into a confrontation with another person. According to Ceren G., the individual near the car suspected the other person of being a thief and called the police. Subsequently, she witnessed one of the individuals involved in the confrontation firing a weapon, and she identified this person as Osman Şeker.

Following statements from the lawyers, the court made an interim decision to maintain the detention status of the accused defendants and scheduled the next hearing for May 28.

The incident in question dates back to September 6, 2023, when Şeker allegedly shot Levent İşçen on Cinnah Street in the Aziziye District of Ankara and fled the scene. Ankara Police Department authorities later traced Şeker to Konya, where he was found with the help of Karakurt. The police also identified the vehicle used by Şeker to travel to Ankara for the alleged attack.

Based on these findings, the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office filed charges of “premeditated murder” against the defendants. The legal proceedings are ongoing as the case continues to unfold.
