
Fake Cancer Drug Cartel Busted – Breaking News

A gang that produced fake cancer drugs worth TL 2 billion was recently busted by authorities, playing with the hopes of cancer patients. Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and Gendarmerie General Command coordinated Provincial Gendarmerie teams to carry out the operation, which resulted in the discovery of fake drugs stored at 4 different addresses.
After conducting technical and physical surveillance, the teams took action and detained 8 suspects in raids. They seized 5 million fake drugs, along with 100 thousand empty drug boxes, 32 thousand brand labels, 9 filling machines, 350 kilograms of powder raw material, and 60 thousand pieces of medical materials.
The suspects underwent gendarmerie procedures and were then referred to court. 6 suspects have been arrested and sent to prison, while judicial control provisions were applied for the remaining 2 suspects.
This operation serves as a reminder of the dangers of counterfeit drugs and the importance of cracking down on such illegal activities to protect the health and safety of the public.
