Faruk Koca Referred to PFDK – Latest Sports Update

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has taken swift action in response to recent incidents involving MKE Ankaragücü’s resigned president Faruk Koca and several officials of the club. Following an altercation that saw Koca physically assault referee Halil Umut Meler during a match against Çaykur Rizespor, the TFF Legal Consultancy has referred Koca, along with 5 administrators and 7 officials of the club, to the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK).

In a statement released by the TFF, Koca was referred to the board for his insults, threats, attacks, and field incidents that were contrary to the federation’s instructions. MKE Ankaragücü managers and officials were also cited for a range of disciplinary violations, including acting against sportsmanship, insulting behavior, and attacks contrary to instructions. The board also decided to refer MKE Ankaragücü to PFDK for field incidents and inappropriate cheering.

In addition to MKE Ankaragücü, several other clubs, including VavaCars Fatih Karagümrük, Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe, and Trabzonspor, have also been sent to discipline due to disciplinary violations in matches played in the 15th week of the Super League. Additionally, several individuals, including Trabzonspor Club President Ertuğrul Doğan and Fenerbahçe Club manager Burak Çağlan, have been referred to the PFDK for various disciplinary infractions.

The TFF’s decisive actions underscore the importance of maintaining sportsmanship and upholding disciplinary standards in professional football. The referrals to the PFDK serve as a reminder that inappropriate behavior on and off the field will not be tolerated, and those who violate the rules will be held accountable.
