Fatal Accident Involving Unlicensed Driver Leaves One Dead
Tragic Accident in Rural Turkey: Motorcyclist Killed in Head-On Collision
A devastating accident took place on the rural Hocaköy Neighborhood road late in the evening. The incident occurred at approximately 22:30 when a car with license plate 16 PM 207, driven by an individual identified as ED, collided head-on with an unregistered motorcycle directed by Şeref Burcu, who was traveling in the opposite direction towards İnegöl district center.
Following the collision, the panicked driver, ED, mistakenly hit the gas pedal instead of the brake, causing him to fall off the motorcycle. He was subsequently dragged for about 50 meters under the car.
Upon receiving notification of the accident, authorities promptly dispatched both the gendarmerie and a medical team to the scene. Tragically, upon examination by the medical staff, Şeref Burcu was pronounced dead. Meanwhile, ED, who was found to be incompetent in handling the vehicle, was apprehended by the gendarmerie for further investigation.
As the relatives of Şeref Burcu arrived at the scene, emotions ran high, leading to an attempted lynching of ED. They forcefully dragged him from the gendarmerie vehicle in their grief and anger. The gendarmerie had to intervene and used significant efforts to calm down the distraught family members. Eventually, ED was removed from the scene and transported to the gendarmerie station where he is currently being held for questioning.
An investigation into the incident has been launched by the gendarmerie teams in order to fully understand the circumstances surrounding the accident. Authorities are working diligently to determine the cause of the collision and the extent of responsibility held by each party involved.
