A Fatal Accident on the TEM Highway Shocks Citizens
A tragic accident occurred at the Tavşancıl crossing of the TEM highway, leaving one person dead and others injured. The incident involved a car with the registration number 34 Z 0830, driven by Abdullah Yüzer (70), who was reportedly travelling towards Istanbul when the car crashed into the barriers with immense force.
The impact was so powerful that the iron barriers broke through the car, trapping the passengers inside. Immediate action was taken as fire, police, and medical teams rushed to the scene upon receiving reports from witnesses.
The fire department worked tirelessly to rescue the injured individuals from the wreckage, eventually handing them over to medical teams for treatment. Turgay Yüzer and Firdevs Yüzer were transported to a hospital in Gebze for further care, while Abdullah Yüzer, who sustained serious injuries, was taken to Körfez State Hospital. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, Abdullah Yüzer succumbed to his injuries.
In the aftermath of the accident, traffic on the TEM highway heading towards Istanbul was temporarily controlled to facilitate the clearing of the wreckage. The police have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the tragic incident.
