
Fatal Explosion in Chilanzar District of Tashkent: One Casualty Reported

Explosion and Fire Break Out in Copper Pipe Production Workshop in Tashkent’s Chilanzar District
The Ministry of Emergency Situations has provided additional information regarding the explosion and fire that occurred in a copper pipe production workshop located on Astrobad Street in Tashkent’s Chilanzar district.
On June 14th, at 09:50 local time, an explosion and subsequent fire erupted in the one-story warehouse, known as a hangar, of the copper pipe production workshop. The incident was caused by a violation of the technological process.
The explosion resulted in the collapse of the workshop’s roof structures and the burning of the interior and machinery within a 50-square-meter area.
Emergency fire-rescue crews from the Ministry of Emergencies, along with personnel from the prosecutor’s office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard, the Ministry of Health, “Hududgaz” JSC, and other relevant organizations, promptly arrived at the scene. They are currently working to eliminate the consequences of the incident.
Tragically, one person was killed on the spot as a result of the explosion. Additionally, 16 individuals sustained injuries of varying degrees and were immediately admitted to the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care. Fortunately, seven of them were later discharged and sent home as they were in good condition.
Investigations and inspections are now underway to determine the exact cause and extent of the violation that led to the explosion. The Ministry of Emergency Situations will collaborate with relevant authorities to ensure such incidents are prevented in the future.
Authorities emphasize the importance of adhering to safety regulations and implementing proper protocols to prevent work-related accidents. The Ministry also reminds businesses and organizations to prioritize the well-being and safety of their employees.
As the consequences of this incident are being addressed, efforts are being made to provide the necessary support to those affected. The Ministry of Emergency Situations expresses condolences to the family of the deceased and hopes for a swift recovery for the injured individuals.
