Experts issue vital warnings following the deaths of 23 people in Istanbul within 72 hours due to counterfeit alcohol consumption. The dangers of fake alcohol have been brought to light after tragic incidents in which individuals lost their lives after consuming illicit beverages.
According to reports, the recent deaths were linked to individuals producing and selling fake alcohol illegally, leading to the loss of numerous lives. Police investigations resulted in the detention of individuals responsible for the production and distribution of these counterfeit drinks.
In response to the rising number of poisonings and deaths caused by fake alcohol, experts emphasize the difficulty in distinguishing between real and counterfeit beverages. They highlight the importance of consumer awareness in preventing such tragedies from occurring.
Citizens are urged to be cautious when purchasing and consuming alcohol, with recommendations including using the Bandrolled Product Tracking System (BÜİS) application to verify the authenticity of drinks, reporting suspicious products to authorities, and avoiding unusually cheap alcohol.

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Aydın warns against homemade alcohol production, as it poses a significant risk due to the potential use of harmful substances.
