A Woman Arrested for Beating Family Doctor in Turkey
A shocking incident occurred in Eskişehir, Turkey, where a woman was detained for assaulting her family doctor after he refused to give her son a medical report. The woman, identified as YC, visited the Fevzi Çakmak Family Health Center in the Tepebaşı district with her son.
The female doctor, AD, who examined Y.C.’s son, noted that the child did not have any health issues and refused to provide a medical report as requested by YC. In response to this denial, YC physically attacked the family doctor.
The violent outburst was put to an end by bystanders, with the incident being captured on a mobile phone camera. The footage shows YC physically assaulting the doctor, leading to AD being taken to Eskişehir City Hospital by emergency health services.
Following the attack, YC was detained by authorities and taken to the police station. The Provincial Health Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yaşar Bildirici, visited the injured doctor in the hospital and expressed his well wishes for a speedy recovery.
After being questioned by the police, YC was ultimately arrested by a judge on the charge of “deliberately injuring a healthcare worker due to her duty”. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of respecting healthcare professionals and the consequences of resorting to violence in any situation.
