FAW to Establish $100 Million Truck Plant in Andijan

Chinese automaker FAW is set to establish a new truck manufacturing plant in Andijan, Uzbekistan, with an investment of $100 million. The factory, located in the “Ipak Yuli” Free Economic Zone (FEZ), is expected to produce up to 10,000 trucks annually.
A delegation from FAW recently held discussions with local authorities in Andijan regarding the project, followed by a visit to the FEZ “Ipak Yuli” to assess the designated site for the new plant.
Construction of the facility is scheduled to commence in November, with plans to achieve full production capacity in the near future. The project aims to significantly enhance the region’s industrial output, particularly in the automotive sector.
In addition to the FAW truck plant, a separate factory is also being constructed within the same economic zone to produce air conditioners and air purifiers under the NAWAS brand.
This new initiative by FAW comes after the successful launch of the brand’s first truck production facility in the Andijan Industrial Hub in September 2023. The initial joint venture, involving UzAuto Trailer and Vodiy Universal Majmua, was completed with an investment of around $15 million.
Overall, these developments reflect a growing presence of international automotive manufacturers in Uzbekistan, further contributing to the country’s industrial growth and economic development.
