Bishkek to Introduce Cableway System Along Manas Avenue

The development of the feasibility study for the construction of a cableway along Manas Avenue in Bishkek has been completed, announced City Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev at a recent municipal board meeting discussing the results of 2024.

Negotiations with investors are currently underway for this project, which is expected to have significant tourist appeal and play a crucial role in the development of Bishkek’s transport infrastructure.

The Bishkek City Hall had previously reported a meeting with Bartholet Swiss, a renowned global leader in cableway systems, on January 30, 2024. Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev and company owner Roland Bartholet were in attendance, and following the meeting, a framework cooperation agreement was signed. A plan for the implementation of the cableway system project in Bishkek was also approved.

A total of $300,000 has been allocated for the feasibility study of the cableway over Manas/Chingiz Aitmatov Avenue, indicating progress towards the implementation of this innovative transportation solution in the Kyrgyz Republic’s capital city.
