Fedor Konyukhov’s Camel Journey

Russian adventurer Fyodor Konyukhov has embarked on a two-week camel journey through the United Arab Emirates, in an expedition titled “Through the Seven Emirates.” The journey, which is part of a larger training exercise, will cover approximately 560 km, passing through the territories of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ras al-Khaimah, Ajman, Fujairah, and Umm al-Quwain.

The caravan began its journey at dawn in the city of Al Ain in the emirate of Abu Dhabi and will travel at a speed of 30-40 km per day, with breaks and stops at sunset. Overnight stays will take place in ancient Bedouin settlements, surrounded by sand dunes as high as a five-story building.

This undertaking serves as training for a larger expedition, which involves crossing the Arabian Peninsula from the Persian Gulf through Saudi Arabia to the Red Sea. Additionally, the expedition includes plans for holding an exhibition of artistic works by Fyodor Konyukhov in the UAE.

Konyukhov, a seasoned adventurer with a wealth of experience in organizing caravan expeditions, has previously completed journeys through various challenging terrains, including the Great Silk Road in Kalmykia, the Astrakhan and Volgograd regions, Dagestan, and the Stavropol Territory. He has also crossed Mongolia from east to west and traversed the Danakil Desert in Ethiopia, among other remarkable accomplishments.

In his lifetime, Konyukhov has undertaken more than 50 expeditions to some of the most perilous and unexplored places on Earth, setting 25 world records, some of which are included in the Guinness Book of Records. His achievements include four circumnavigations of the world, crossing the Atlantic 17 times, and reaching the five poles of the Earth: the Northern and Southern geographical poles, the Pole of relative inaccessibility in the Arctic Ocean, Everest (the pole of heights), and Cape Horn (the pole of yachtsmen). He was also the first person to complete the Adventurers Grand Slam program, which includes the North and South Poles and the seven peaks of the world, including Everest. Remarkably, at 72 years old, Konyukhov continues to push himself to new limits in the world of exploration and adventure.
