Fergana Man Arrested for Smuggling 44 iPhones Valued at 900 Million UZS
Authorities in Fergana have made a significant seizure after apprehending an individual attempting to illegally import 44 iPhone 16 Pro Max smartphones. The estimated value of the smartphones is a staggering 900 million UZS.
The arrest occurred during a routine operation carried out by law enforcement officers in the Fergana district. A Lacetti vehicle was stopped for inspection, and upon further investigation, the officers discovered the smartphones hidden inside the car’s cabin and trunk. These phones, which were manufactured abroad, did not have the necessary customs clearance documents.
As a result of the illegal import attempt, the smartphones, valued at around 900 million UZS, were confiscated by authorities. Customs officials have now initiated a pre-investigation inquiry into the incident to determine the full extent of the illegal activity.
