Fergana Region Implements Chinese Industrial Zone Model
Local farmers in Uzbekistan are receiving support from the government for their fruit processing projects. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev recently announced plans to expand the Kokand Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and approved projects worth millions of dollars for implementation in the region.
The President emphasized the importance of creating industrial zones in various districts and cities, following the Chinese model of specialization in specific industries. This initiative aims to create jobs and boost economic growth in the country.
In addition to industrial projects, plans are in place to establish modern enterprises for breeding cotton seeds and planting high-yielding fruit varieties in the Fergana region. The government also supports the construction of refrigerated warehouses to increase the export potential of local farmers and reduce losses during storage.
Furthermore, the state is providing financial assistance to farmers by compensating part of the interest on loans taken for project implementation. In the Kuvasay district, over 600 farmers will benefit from land tax benefits to support their agricultural activities.
Collaborations with international partners, such as Russian and Saudi investors, are also in the works to build agrological centers and manufacturing facilities for cooling and heating systems. The government is committed to modernizing infrastructure and promoting sustainable agriculture practices in the region.
Overall, these developments signify a concerted effort to promote economic growth, create employment opportunities, and support local farmers in Uzbekistan. With the government’s backing, the future looks promising for the agricultural sector in the country.
