Fidesz Organizes Demonstration Against Tisza Party MEP’s Alleged “High Treason”
Gergely Gulyás, the head of the Prime Minister’s Office, delivered a powerful speech at a demonstration in Budapest over the weekend, denouncing the actions of Tisza Party MEPs as acts of high treason against Hungary.
Speaking at a protest organized by the National Resistance Movement and the Civic Union Forum (COF), Gulyás criticized Tisza Party MEP Kinga for her comments regarding the freeze on Hungary’s EU funds. He stated that these actions were not a matter of left or right politics, but rather a betrayal of the Hungarian people.
Gulyás accused Tisza’s MEPs of actively working to make Hungarians poorer by withholding much-needed funds from sectors such as health care, education, and businesses. He emphasized that their actions were driven by a desire to harm the country in order to gain political advantage in the upcoming general election.
Furthermore, Gulyás called out Tisza Party leader Péter Hungarian for prioritizing personal power over the well-being of Hungary. He highlighted that Tisza’s actions were not in the best interests of the Hungarian people and were aimed at furthering their own political agenda at the expense of the country.
In addition, Gulyás criticized Tisza MEP Magyar for evading accountability for his actions and utilizing his immunity as an MEP to shield himself from legal repercussions. He pointed out that Tisza’s alignment with the European People’s Party and support for Ukraine’s EU accession were contrary to Hungarian interests.
Gulyás stressed that Budapest is not Brussels and that Hungary is a sovereign country whose decisions should be made by the Hungarian people, not dictated by external powers. He and other officials vowed to defend Hungary against those who seek to betray the country for their own gain.
Overall, Gulyás’s speech at the demonstration highlighted the ongoing political tensions in Hungary and the importance of prioritizing the interests of the Hungarian people above personal and political ambitions.
