Final Message: ‘Don’t Make My Tombstone,’ Writes Man Before Disappearing
A tragic discovery was made in Antalya’s Kumluca district as the lifeless body of a 22-year-old young man, Halil İbrahim Öksüz, was found in a forest area.
Öksüz had bid farewell to his loved ones in a WhatsApp group on September 22 before disappearing. He left behind a note on a napkin, specifying his date of birth and the date of his disappearance as his date of death, along with a heartfelt request: “It is my will, do not have my tombstone made.”
His family, deeply concerned about his whereabouts, reported him missing to the Kumluca District Police Department. The search for Öksüz came to a tragic end when his body was discovered hanging from a pine tree at the entrance of Sarnıçtepesi in the district.
Authorities were alerted by citizens who came across the distressing sight. Police teams swiftly arrived at the scene, launching an investigation alongside the public prosecutor. Öksüz’s body was subsequently transferred to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute for further examination.
The community is left mourning the loss of a young life, as questions linger about the circumstances that led to this heartbreaking outcome.
