
Fire Destroys Worker’s Accommodation in Üsküdar: 20 Containers Rendered Unusable – Latest News from Turkey

A fire broke out in Üsküdar, Istanbul, at around 16.30 in the containers where construction workers were staying. The incident occurred on Köroğlu Street in the Burhaniye District.
The cause of the fire in the container where the workers were living is still unknown. The flames quickly spread to nearby containers, causing concern among the workers.
Emergency services were alerted, and police, fire brigade, and medical teams rushed to the scene. During the fire, small explosions were heard, adding to the chaos.
Fortunately, with the swift response of the fire brigade, the flames were brought under control and extinguished. While 20 containers were destroyed and are now unusable at the construction site where 250 workers were employed, there were no fatalities or injuries reported.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire and ensuring that the necessary precautions are taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
